The Visa Application Centres (VACs) are authorized to accept applications for Study Permits, Work Permits and Temporary Resident Visas on behalf of the Canadian Embassy in Mexico City. VAC personnel verify that application forms have been thoroughly completed and signed, and are accompanied by the requested supporting documents. They also arrange passport return through DHL and verify that the required processing fee has been paid. Permanent Resident Visa applications should be submitted directly to the Embassy of Canada in Mexico as well as Permanent Resident Determination and Seasonal Agricultural Worker applications.
The VACs are set up solely to provide application support. VAC personnel are not authorized to issue or refuse a visa or a permit, nor do they have any influence on the outcome of an application, nor should they be solicited for advice. Please note that the following items are prohibited from the VAC at all times: alcohol, illegal drugs, and weapons, including firearms, explosives, knives or chemicals of any kind. To protect the privacy of all applicants, mobile phones, PDAs or cameras brought onto the premises will be stored at the guard’s desk.
Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) must conform to a stringent Privacy Act which also extends to all of our missions and employees abroad. These requirements also apply to any individual or company doing work for or on behalf of CIC. The obligations to ensure privacy and to protect disclosure of information is taken very seriously and only a minimum of your personal information needed by the VAC for your application will be used by us. For further information, please consult the VAC Privacy Policy.
